Yoon Seok-yeol, Yoon Sang-hyun, Jo Hae-jin, and Lee Jong-seong Join to "Unite Diverse Voices for Regime Change"

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate and former Prosecutor General, announced on the 17th that he appointed former floor leader Joo Ho-young as the head of the election campaign committee and additionally recruited lawmakers Yoon Sang-hyun, Cho Hae-jin, and Lee Jong-sung in the afternoon.

The Yoon Seok-yeol campaign released a statement saying, "This additional appointment has become an opportunity to gather diverse voices within the party for regime change," and added, "We will continue to actively open the campaign to achieve regime change."


Lawmaker Yoon Sang-hyun will serve as the head of the People’s Camp’s general special advisory group, and Lawmaker Lee Jong-sung will take charge as the head of the Disability Policy Headquarters. Lawmaker Cho Hae-jin, chair of the National Assembly’s Education Committee, is expected to first work in the Gyeongnam election committee and then take on a key role in the People’s Camp.


Yoon, a four-term lawmaker, will leverage his diverse experience, including serving as chair of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, as well as participating in the Intelligence Committee and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, to lead policy and network support activities for candidate Yoon Seok-yeol alongside special advisors in various fields within the People’s Camp.


Cho, a three-term lawmaker and chair of the Education Committee, has held various party positions such as party spokesperson, senior deputy floor leader, and chair of the Gyeongnam Provincial Party Committee, and is expected to take on important responsibilities in strategy, public relations, and media within the People’s Camp.


Lee, who serves as chair of the People Power Party’s Central Disability Committee, will oversee the establishment of tailored disability policies and the expansion of networks within the People’s Camp.


Earlier that morning, former Prosecutor General Yoon recruited former floor leader Joo Ho-young to the campaign. At a press conference held at the National Assembly Communication Office, Yoon said, "He has helped us in many ways before, and this time he willingly accepted a difficult position," expressing his thoughts on the recruitment by saying, "It feels like we have gained a great asset."
