[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Hong Joon-pyo, a presidential candidate from the People Power Party, on the 17th targeted Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea (current Governor of Gyeonggi Province), saying, "He appears to be the main culprit of the Daejang-dong corruption scandal who should go to prison, not the Blue House."
On the same day, Hong wrote on Facebook, "The way candidates Lee Jae-myung and Yoon Seok-youl are biting and tearing each other apart over the Daejang-dong corruption scandal is truly unpleasant," criticizing both candidates simultaneously.
He especially directed at candidate Lee, saying, "Attacking candidate Yoon Seok-youl based on rumors that are still mere speculation seems to indicate that he is in a desperate situation."
He continued, "Nam Wook, the lawyer involved in designing the Daejang-dong corruption, is soon returning to the country. Although hard to believe, I will watch to see if the prosecution's investigation is truly impartial and without sanctuary."
