[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Youngkyu] Gyeonggi Province will hold a social media (SNS) participation event for five weeks, from October 18 to November 21, 2021, to communicate with Gyeonggi residents and everyone who loves Gyeonggi Province through its representative symbols.
The event will be held in two categories.
The first event, "Finding Gyeonggi Province's Representative Symbols in My Life," invites participants to photograph Gyeonggi's representative symbols encountered in daily life and upload them to their personal Instagram channels.
The second event, "Discovering the Values of Gyeonggi Province's Representative Symbols," asks participants to post a photo and a caption expressing their thoughts on one of the three values represented by the symbols-fairness, possibility, and diversity-on their Instagram channels.
For the "Finding Gyeonggi Province's Representative Symbols in My Life" event, participants can take photos of symbols found in their surroundings, such as road signs or outdoor advertisements, and upload them to their own Instagram channels. They must tag the event’s official account (@ggdcontest_event) and use the hashtags #GyeonggiRepresentativeSymbol and #FindingRepresentativeSymbolInMyLife. Each week, the first 100 participants will be selected, for a total of 500 winners, who will receive a mobile gift voucher.
For the "Discovering the Values of Gyeonggi Province's Representative Symbols" event, participants can upload a photo (or image) and a caption expressing their thoughts on one of the three values-fairness, possibility, or diversity-along with the hashtags #ChooseOneOfFairnessPossibilityDiversity, #GyeonggiRepresentativeSymbol, and #DiscoveringRepresentativeSymbolValues. Each week, the first 20 participants will be selected, for a total of 100 winners, who will receive a mobile gift voucher.
The representative symbols of Gyeonggi Province are composed of the Korean consonants ㄱ, ㄱ, and ㄷ. The first "ㄱ" symbolizes Gyeonggi Province advancing toward a prosperous future based on fairness; the second "ㄱ" represents the creation of possibilities for a greater future; and "ㄷ" signifies Gyeonggi Province as a place where diverse lives coexist.
Lee Kanghee, Director of Promotional Content for the province, stated, "Through the Gyeonggi Province Representative Symbols SNS event, I hope more people will feel the presence of these symbols in their daily lives," adding, "We will do our best to promote these symbols so that residents can feel affection for them and find them familiar."
