From the 23rd, '6th Seoripul ART for ART Grand Exhibition' Opens at KEPCO Art Center... Over 60 Works by Domestic and International Young Artists Who Won the Contest Displayed
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seocho District Office (Mayor Eunhee Cho) and Seocho Art Association (President Yoonjung Choi) will hold the "6th Seoripul ART for ART Grand Prize Exhibition" at the KEPCO Art Center from the 23rd to the 30th.
Now in its 6th year since 2016, this exhibition showcases about 62 works awarded in the "Seoripul ART for ART Grand Prize Exhibition," supported by Seocho District and Seocho Cultural Center to help young artists focus on their creative activities.
Last month, the district invited submissions from young artists aged 19 to 49, both domestic and international, in the flat category (Korean painting, Western painting, printmaking) and the three-dimensional category (sculpture, crafts), resulting in 366 works submitted from young artists nationwide.
The final judging results will be announced on the 23rd. The awards include a grand prize (1 person) with 10 million KRW, an excellence award (1 person) with 3 million KRW, and two merit awards each with 1 million KRW. Notably, unlike other contests, these are pure cash prizes rather than purchase payments for the artworks.
Selected artists will be inducted as regular members of the Seocho Art Association according to their award level, allowing them to participate in the Seocho Art Association’s regular exhibitions and various planned exhibitions, providing continuous opportunities for artistic activities.
Meanwhile, the district and Seocho Art Association support young artists through various exhibitions, including the nationwide contest "Seoripul ART for ART Grand Prize Exhibition" and the "Seoripul Young Artists Exhibition" showcasing works by young artists from Seocho District.
Seocho District Mayor Eunhee Cho said, “I hope the works, which combine youthful passion, boldness, and various imaginations, will deeply move the audience and especially offer comfort and encouragement to everyone going through difficult times. We will continue to prepare various policies to support young people in the arts field.”
