Installation of 15 Benches Created by Gangnam-gu Teheran-ro Companies and Citizens

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jung Soon-gyun) has installed 15 benches created by companies and citizens along Teheran-ro.

In August, the district carried out the ‘All the Benches in the World on Teheran-ro’ project with the aim of providing resting spaces on Teheran-ro, where pedestrians lacked places to rest.

This is a ‘Creating Shared Value’ project that installs benches made by companies, artists, and citizens on Teheran-ro, displaying the names and contact information of the contributors on the works to provide promotional opportunities.

Professor Yoo Hyun-joon from Hongik University also participated in the project, serving as an advisor and designing and submitting the ‘Triangle Bench No. 1’.

Gong Seung-ho, head of the New Design Division, said, “‘All the Benches in the World on Teheran-ro’ is a more meaningful project because it is a collaboration between citizens, companies, and the district. We ask for much interest and participation from companies and citizens until 1,000 benches are placed on Teheran-ro.”

To promote the ‘All the Benches in the World’ project, the district will hold a certification photo sharing event from the 15th of this month to the 15th of next month. Details can be found on the Gangnam-gu Office website or KakaoTalk channel. Among participants, 200 will be selected by lottery to receive a mobile coffee coupon or an eco bag.
