New Cashback Product Offering Up to 20,000 KRW Monthly for MZ Generation's Preferred Services like Netflix
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] Korea Post Financial is launching a new check card that offers up to 20,000 KRW cashback per month when used at popular places among the MZ generation such as Netflix, YouTube, online delivery apps, and coffee shops.
The Ministry of Science and ICT’s Postal Service Headquarters is reintroducing the ‘Korea Post Smart Check Card,’ which was launched in 2012 and popular among young people, redesigned to suit the characteristics of the MZ generation under the name ‘Korea Post Smart PLUS Check Card,’ available for sale starting from the 18th. The card is also made eco-friendly by recycling waste plastic certified by the Ministry of Environment.
The main benefits consider the changed lifestyle due to COVID-19 and the consumption patterns of the MZ generation. Users receive 20% cashback on digital streaming service payments such as YouTube and Netflix, 15% cashback on online shopping and delivery app payments such as Coupang and Baemin, and 5% cashback on coffee shops and daily necessities payments such as Starbucks and Olive Young, up to a maximum of 20,000 KRW per month depending on the previous month’s spending.
To celebrate the card launch, various prize events are prepared from the 18th to November 30th. Customers who newly sign up and spend a certain amount (534 people), customers who issued the card non-face-to-face via smart banking, etc. (1,206 people), and customers who register four major simple payment methods such as Samsung Pay and spend over 20,000 KRW (500 people) will be entered into a draw to win various prizes including stylers.
Additionally, to actively practice ESG management, a BigWalk campaign will be conducted where donations are made to eco-friendly companies and vulnerable groups based on the number of steps taken by app users.
