[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] LG Electronics announced on the 15th that it will introduce LG CLOi robot solutions such as the LG CLOi GuideBot, LG CLOi UV-C Bot, and LG CLOi ServeBot at the '2021 Hotel Show.'
The Hotel Show, hosted by Mirae Exhibition Co., Ltd., is a representative exhibition for the lodging and food service industries including hotels and resorts. About 200 companies set up 500 booths at this event. LG Electronics participated in the event held for four days from the previous day until the 17th at KINTEX in Goyang City, setting up an exhibition space together with smart hotel platform service provider DoWhat, showcasing various usage scenarios by linking DoWhat's services with CLOi robots.
The drawer-type LG CLOi ServeBot demonstrated delivering products ordered by customers directly to guest rooms, while the shelf-type LG CLOi ServeBot carried pamphlets within the booth and distributed them to visitors. The LG CLOi GuideBot guided visitors around the Hotel Show exhibition hall and introduced detailed information about LG Electronics' robots, and the LG CLOi UV-C Bot demonstrated sterilizing while moving around the exhibition hall.
LG Electronics explained that the drawer-type LG CLOi ServeBot and LG CLOi GuideBot can autonomously take elevators and move between floors, making them suitable for hotel room service and room guidance. LG Electronics is positioning robots as a key future business area and is focusing on services that can be easily accessed in daily life, offering various customized solutions such as hotel solutions, hospital solutions, and F&B solutions.
LG Electronics' Robot Business Manager Executive Director Noh Kyuchan said, "LG CLOi robots are equipped with hotel-optimized solutions ranging from one-on-one premium concierge services to contactless delivery services," adding, "They will lead a paradigm shift in hotel services through the complementary interaction between humans and robots."
