Professor Kim Jeongran of Gyeongnam National University Presents a Work Combining 'Masan' and 'Daenggimeori' Hairstyles

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Professor Kim Jeong-ran of the Department of Art Education at Gyeongnam National University will hold a solo exhibition titled 'Daenggi Hair Masan Journey' from the 16th to the 30th at Matsan Gallery (Brown Hands) in Masanhappo-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam.

Artist Kim Jeong-ran has actively continued her career as both an artist and curator, participating in 26 solo exhibitions and over 200 domestic and international curated exhibitions, as well as planning five exhibitions. Since last year, she has been serving as a professor in the Department of Art Education at Gyeongnam National University, dedicating herself to nurturing talent.

Until now, Kim has painted portraits of women wearing traditional Korean clothing set against locations that serve as the motif for her works. In this exhibition, various works combining meaningful locations in Masan with the artist's 'daenggi hair' will be displayed.

The exhibition is divided into three parts: 'Masan, Landmark,' 'Strolling through Masan,' and 'Record 2021,' with both existing and new works exhibited in halls 1 and 2.

Professor Kim said, "I have tried to find the value of Masan, a city with historical and cultural significance. I do not know what meaning telling the story of Masan through a few paintings might have, but I present to you a sketch of my brief 'Masan life.'"
