Starting from the 12th of next month, the online video service (OTT) Disney Plus (+) will showcase seven domestic content titles. These include 'Moving', 'Grid', 'You and My Police Class', 'Kiss Six Sense', 'Running Man: The Player Above the Runner', 'Snowdrop', and 'BLACKPINK: The Movie'.


The Walt Disney Company held an online APAC content showcase on the 14th to introduce its new content lineup. It features twenty titles from the Asia-Pacific region, including eighteen original works. These are given significant focus alongside existing Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, National Geographic, and Star content, highlighting collaboration and coexistence with the content industry in the Asia-Pacific region.

Luke Kang, President of Walt Disney Company Asia-Pacific, said, "For decades, we have brought joy to consumers in the Asia-Pacific region and have been a key part of the creative ecosystem," adding, "We will take a new leap forward by combining our global capabilities with the unique stories of Asia-Pacific content creators."


Jessica Kam-Engel, Head of Content and Development for Walt Disney Company Asia-Pacific, also stated, "We are focusing on collaboration with the best storytellers in the Asia-Pacific region based on our brand power, scale, and creativity," and added, "We will share authentic stories reflecting unique cultures and social realities with global audiences."

The domestic titles featured in the Disney+ lineup include dramas, variety shows, and documentaries whose production has already been announced. 'Moving' is an action fantasy hero story about a family with congenital superpowers who confront a great enemy across eras and generations. Studio&New is adapting Kang Full’s webtoon of the same name into a drama. Directed by Park In-je, it stars Jo In-sung, Han Hyo-joo, and Ryu Seung-ryong. Originally known as 'Zero', 'Grid' is a drama combining sci-fi and chase thriller elements. The script is written by Lee Soo-yeon, writer of the 'Stranger' series, and directed by Lee Kwon, known for the film 'The Divine Move: The Wrathful'. It stars Seo Kang-joon, Kim Ah-joong, and Lee Si-young.


'You and My Police Class' is a campus drama set at the Korean National Police University. Written by Lee Ha-na, who won a terrestrial network script contest, and directed by Kim Byung-soo, known for 'A Korean Odyssey' and 'He Is Psychometric'. Singer Kang Daniel makes his acting debut, which has already attracted attention. 'Kiss Six Sense' is a drama about a woman who can see the future through kisses and what happens after she kisses her boss on the neck. It stars Yoon Kye-sang, Kim Ji-seok, and Seo Ji-hye. 'Snowdrop' is a melodrama created by the production team of 'SKY Castle'. It stars Jung Hae-in and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo. It is scheduled to air this year.

'Running Man: The Player Above the Runner' is a spin-off program of the popular variety show 'Running Man'. Kim Jong-kook, Haha, and Ji Suk-jin play fun games with new guests every week. 'BLACKPINK: The Movie' is a documentary commemorating BLACKPINK’s 5th anniversary, released in theaters last August. It attracted 15,247 viewers in cinemas.


Titles from the Asia-Pacific region excluding Korea include 'Tokyo MER: Mobile Emergency Room', 'BLACK ROCK SHOOTER DAWN FALL', 'Summer Time Rendering', 'YOJOHAN TIME MACHINE BLUES (working title)', 'Susah Sinyal (or Bad Signal)', 'Small & Mighty', 'Delicacies Destiny', and 'Shipwreck Hunters'. The popular Disney mobile game 'Twisted Wonderland' by Aniplex will also be produced as an animation.
