[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] On the 12th, the KOSPI continued its upward trend into the afternoon, driven by solo net buying from institutional investors.
As of 2:31 PM, the KOSPI stood at 2,978.27, up 1.15% (33.86 points) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 2,968.87, up 24.46 points (0.83%) from the previous day, maintaining a strong trend and even reaching the 2,980 level. However, the gains slightly narrowed afterward, and the index has been fluctuating around the 2,970 level in the afternoon.
By investor type, institutions supported the index floor with net buying of 222.7 billion KRW. In contrast, individuals and foreigners are net selling 3.1 billion KRW and 238.3 billion KRW, respectively.
Most of the top market capitalization companies are on the rise. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix rose 0.44% and 1.63%, respectively, compared to the previous day. NAVER and LG Chem also increased by 3.40% and 3.34%, respectively. Hyundai Motor (-0.95%) and Kia (-0.12%) declined.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ is trading at 981.62, up 28.15 points (2.95%) from the previous day. The index started the session at 960.58, up 7.11 points (0.75%) from the previous day.
By investor type, individuals are net selling 134.1 billion KRW. Meanwhile, foreigners and institutions show net buying dominance with 129.9 billion KRW and 26.7 billion KRW, respectively.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Celltrion Healthcare (2.17%), Pearl Abyss (2.27%), Kakao Games (2.75%), and Celltrion Pharm (1.64%) are rising. On the other hand, L&F (-0.42%) and CJ ENM (-0.52%) are declining.
