Through this business agreement, Polaris Office will be pre-installed on Naver’s recently launched educational devices, Whale Book and Whale OS, allowing users to immediately view various document formats, including Hangul HWP files and MS Office documents. Additionally, users can access an ad-free Polaris Edu Web Office version through login with Naver’s educational platform Whale Space accounts.

Whale Book and Whale Space users can view and edit documents on laptops and browsers without needing to install separate programs. Furthermore, integration with Polaris Office will be expanded across various Whale web service areas.

Naver has expressed its ambition to make Whale the number one web browser in the domestic market and recently launched Whale Book to target the future education market. With the spread of Whale Book and Whale Space, the usage rate of Polaris Office Web is also expected to increase.

‘Polaris Office Web’ is a web editor that allows users to edit document files directly in a web browser without installing paid programs or requiring membership registration and login. It offers not only document viewing but also editing, saving, and link-sharing functions, enabling easy and convenient document work in any environment. The ‘Polaris Office Web Hangul’ service is also provided on global cloud services such as Google Drive and Dropbox.

Naver and Polaris Office have agreed to start providing the Polaris Office Web service within Whale’s educational platform and to develop joint marketing and business models using Whale, as well as to collaborate in the education market and derive related business models.

A Polaris Office official stated, “As demand for convenient work environments in the untact era increases, the usage rate of the ‘Polaris Office Web’ service is also significantly rising,” adding, “By providing web office services on Naver Whale, Korea’s representative web browser, we expect not only increased brand awareness for Polaris Office but also a significant growth in users.”

They continued, “We will continue to collaborate with Naver so that Whale and Polaris Office Web users can carry out document work more conveniently,” and added, “We will provide high-quality services to enhance convenience in document work.”
