Genesis Unveils Concept Car 'Genesis X' in Live Roadshow

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Genesis brand announced on the 14th that it will hold the 'Genesis X Roadshow,' showcasing the actual Genesis X concept car for the first time in Korea, at The Museum in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, from the 16th to the 24th.

The Genesis X is a Gran Turismo (GT) concept car based on an electric vehicle, unveiled by Genesis last March. The brand's core design element, the 'two lines,' is applied throughout the vehicle's interior and exterior, including the electric charging port, indicating the design direction for future electric vehicle models.

At the roadshow, Genesis will display the Genesis X in a space that three-dimensionally expresses the meaning of 'connection' through lines, and will convey Genesis's design direction to customers through media art using lighting and sound effects. The media art performance begins and ends with the Crystal Sphere, a spherical electronic shift knob applied to the Genesis X.

The Crystal Sphere, implemented as a stand outside the vehicle so customers can easily see its rotation, remains as a mood-lit crystal objet when the vehicle is off, and at the start of the performance, the spherical model rotates to reveal the shift control.

The approximately 10-minute media art uses UV and laser lighting to display various patterns around the exhibited Genesis X that evoke Genesis's unique design elements. Light beams forming two lines appear on both sides of the vehicle, and when the performance ends, the Crystal Sphere rotates back from the shift control to the crystal objet.

The exhibition space is sequentially composed of ▲images and videos of past concept cars ▲a space emphasizing the two-line design with multiple lines ▲the Genesis X concept car exhibition and media art ▲interior design emphasizing the 'beauty of emptiness' of the Genesis X and images and videos of the GV60, which inherits the Crystal Sphere. Through this sequential spatial composition, Genesis stages the process by which the brand's design vision is established as its identity.

After the Seoul exhibition, Genesis will continue the roadshow at ▲Gongbaek in Gujwa-eup, Jeju City (October 29 to November 7) and ▲PIAAC in Yeongdo-gu, Busan (November 12 to 21). Customers wishing to visit can make reservations for their preferred date and time starting from the 14th via Naver reservation, and same-day on-site registration is also available.

A Genesis official said, "The Genesis X is a model that shows Genesis's design direction," adding, "We hope this exhibition will provide customers with an opportunity to directly experience the design direction that Genesis pursues."
