Oh Se-hoon, Special Training on the Public Officials' Conflict of Interest Prevention Act with Grade 3 and Above Executives

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the morning of the 14th, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon will attend a special training session on the 'Public Officials Conflict of Interest Prevention Act' with Seoul city officials of grade 3 and above, including the mayoral team, at the multipurpose hall of Seoul City Hall.

The special training will be conducted by Jeon Hyun-hee, Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, who will deliver a lecture for about 70 minutes focusing on the Public Officials Conflict of Interest Prevention Act set to be implemented in May next year, as well as the government's anti-corruption policy directions. A Q&A session with the participants will follow.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, Mayor Oh, the mayoral team, and minimal personnel including department heads and bureau chiefs will attend the session on-site at the multipurpose hall, while the remaining staff will participate online. Seoul City plans to broadcast the lecture live via internal broadcasting so that any city employee can watch the training.

Meanwhile, earlier in June this year, Seoul City and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission signed a business agreement to realize a fair and clean society and promote public interests, agreeing to mutually cooperate in areas such as strengthening management of vulnerable fields regarding conflicts of interest among public officials and supporting and cooperating in public officials' integrity education. This special training is being promoted as part of the cooperation between the two organizations.
