[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Comprehensive IT company Camsys is strengthening its competitiveness in core components for smart healthcare and ultra-compact electric vehicles.
On the 13th, Camsys announced that it signed a three-party business agreement for development and mass production cooperation of core components in each business with its electric vehicle division subsidiary Sebo Mobility and electronic components and information communication technology specialist SoluM.
The signing ceremony was held with representatives from the three companies, including Park Youngtae, CEO of Camsys and Sebo Mobility, and Jeon Seongho, CEO of SoluM. The parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to successfully carry out "development and mass production of smart healthcare sensors and modules, and development and mass production verification of electric vehicle Battery Management System (BMS)."
In the smart healthcare sensor development and modularization business cooperation sector, SoluM, which has independently developed sensor semiconductors, and Camsys will collaborate to develop and mass-produce smart healthcare sensor modules capable of recognizing various biometric information such as body temperature and heart rate in wearable devices like smartwatches and wireless earphones. They also plan to join forces in sales activities for product marketing.
The electric vehicle battery management system (BMS) development and commercialization business cooperation sector aims to apply the BMS and batteries developed by SoluM to Sebo Mobility’s next electric vehicle model.
Sebo Mobility will provide detailed data on electric vehicles for BMS development and the installed batteries, and SoluM will use this data to proceed with development and testing. Through this, the two companies plan to introduce a new BMS that can reduce concerns about electric vehicle safety such as fire and further improve battery efficiency.
Jeon Seongho, CEO of SoluM, said, “We believe that SoluM’s advanced technology accumulated in the electrical and electronic fields can create sufficient synergy with Camsys and Sebo Mobility,” adding, “This partnership is expected to be an important step not only in advancing smart healthcare sensors and the electric vehicle industry but also in strengthening the capabilities of each company.”
Park Youngtae, CEO of Camsys and Sebo Mobility, said, “Through collaboration with SoluM, the technologies and know-how of each company will harmonize to produce positive results,” and added, “Camsys and Sebo Mobility look forward to improving technology and securing new revenue sources and growth through gradual strategic changes toward cooperation with various companies and open innovation.”
