[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Iseul] A representative from the agency of an actor attending the Busan International Film Festival tested positive for COVID-19 (novel coronavirus infection).


On the 13th, according to King Kong by Starship, the agency of Lee Kwang-soo and Park Hee-soon, a manager who attended the 26th Busan International Film Festival tested positive in a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test conducted after experiencing symptoms following the event schedule.


The manager accompanied Lee Kwang-soo and Park Hee-soon during their Busan Film Festival schedule. Lee Kwang-soo participated in the outdoor stage greeting for the film 'Sinkhole' held on the 8th at the outdoor stage of the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan, while Park Hee-soon attended the opening ceremony red carpet on the 6th and events related to Netflix's 'My Name'.


A King Kong by Starship representative told this outlet, "We were informed of the positive case on the 11th and conducted tests on all staff who had contact. Lee Kwang-soo, Park Hee-soon, and all others tested negative," adding, "Park Hee-soon was classified as a close contact and entered a two-week self-quarantine."


The manager is known to have attended several events held at the Busan International Film Festival. The representative said, "All Netflix 'My Name' staff and event-related personnel who attended with Park Hee-soon underwent COVID-19 testing."


Prior to attending the Busan Film Festival, the manager tested negative in a COVID-19 PCR test conducted two days before attendance, following the festival's guidelines. All attendees submitted negative test certificates as required. The representative stated, "The manager completed the festival schedule and tested positive in a test conducted on the 9th in Seoul after experiencing symptoms."


A Busan International Film Festival official said, "We were informed of the positive case from the confirmed individual on the 11th," adding, "The quarantine authorities are identifying the confirmed person's movement through CCTV and are notifying individuals separately."


They continued, "A total of 615 people, including Busan Film Festival staff and volunteers who worked over the weekend (9th-10th), as well as indoor service workers, underwent proactive PCR testing and all tested negative," adding, "The festival completed epidemiological investigations through the Busan Citizen Quarantine Promotion Team."
