[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] LG Display announced on the 13th that it will support free eye examinations for children in medically underserved areas in observance of 'World Sight Day.'
LG Display will provide free detailed eye examinations by ophthalmology specialists, including vision, intraocular pressure, and refraction tests, for preschool children in 10 regions without pediatric ophthalmology clinics, such as Yeongyang-gun and Seonsan-eup in Gumi-si, Gyeongbuk Province, and Cheongyang-gun in Chungbuk Province. For children from low-income families who require surgery for conditions such as strabismus or congenital cataracts, the company will fully cover the surgery costs. The free examinations will be conducted sequentially until the end of the year.

Since signing an agreement with the Korea Foundation for the Prevention of Blindness in March 2008, LG Display has continuously carried out various eye health support projects over the past 14 years.
The company has provided free eye examinations to 4,000 residents in medically underserved villages and conducted the 'Chorongi Eye Health Class,' which helps about 50,000 students in over 300 elementary schools nationwide develop proper eye care habits.
Meanwhile, LG Display offers OLED products that are comfortable and safe for consumers' eyes. OLED TV panels emit more than 50% less blue light?which causes vision deterioration and sleep disorders?compared to LCD TV panels, have a flicker phenomenon close to 0%, and have been certified by international organizations as glare-free displays.
An LG Display official stated, "We will continue to do our best to help the public not only through various eye health support projects but also by providing good products that do not harm eye health."
