NFT (Non Fungible Token) is a digital asset based on blockchain technology that assigns unique identification values such as buyer information to digital files to guarantee ownership. It is rapidly growing centered on highly scarce IPs because it can transparently prove original ownership.
Jeong Seung-won, who has secured a global fan base, recently played as a member of the national soccer team at the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics. With 650,000 followers on his personal SNS, he ranked second in SNS followers among domestic soccer players, following Son Heung-min, recently becoming a hot topic. Fans are expected to have high expectations for Jeong Seung-won’s NFT issuance, as he has maintained steady communication with fans through daily postings.
Galaxia Metaverse and Spotlight Group plan to issue highly scarce NFTs starting with player cards using Jeong Seung-won’s image, including daily sketches and unreleased videos.
A company official stated, “We will continue to cooperate to develop NFT products combining sports and cultural arts, such as sports media art.”
Galaxia Metaverse is a blockchain business subsidiary of fintech specialist company Galaxia Moneytree. Ahead of the official launch of the NFT curating platform ‘MetaGalaxia’ on November 1, the teaser site has been receiving favorable reviews, and a pre-event airdrop is underway offering free NFTs of marathon legend Lee Bong-ju.
