"Man Arrested and Indicted for Assault with a Weapon While Fighting Instead of His Girlfriend"

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A man in his 40s who wielded a weapon against the boyfriend of a woman after fighting on behalf of his girlfriend has been brought to trial.

According to the legal community on the 11th, the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office arrested and indicted Mr. A (47), who is accused of attempted murder, on the 5th of this month.

Mr. A is accused of stabbing Mr. B, a man in his 40s, in eight places including the side and thigh with a weapon on a street in Jungnang-gu, Seoul, at around 1:20 a.m. last month on the 21st.

It is reported that they came out to fight after seeing their girlfriends arguing over the phone. Mr. A surrendered to the police immediately after the crime and was arrested at the scene. Mr. B was also booked on charges of assaulting Mr. A, but the case was dismissed due to lack of prosecution as Mr. A did not want to press charges.
