[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] On the 11th, Kim Ki-hyun, floor leader of the People Power Party, said, "If the leader of a band of thieves scolds a neighborhood bully about right and wrong, which citizen would believe that?" He stated that Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, should undergo a prosecution investigation regarding the Daejang-dong development allegations.

Kim held an emergency press conference that day and said, "It is fairness and justice for Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, to resign from all public offices and undergo investigation."

He said, "We will create and operate a Daejang-dong Gate Corruption Reporting Center," adding, "We will receive reports on corruption in various development projects that occurred during Lee Jae-myung's tenure as Mayor of Seongnam and as Governor of Gyeonggi Province, and reveal the truth in detail."

He also said, "If the prosecution does not conduct a search and seizure of Seongnam City Hall and Gyeonggi Provincial Office, I will report those in the prosecution and investigation command line to the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials for dereliction of duty." He added, "We have repeatedly requested search and seizure of Seongnam City Hall and Gyeonggi Provincial Office, which contain all the evidence intact, but the prosecution has not moved at all."

He pointed out that a post on the Blue House's public petition board requesting the return of profits from the Daejang district to residents and a thorough investigation of the project was changed to private within a day, criticizing, "What is the Blue House afraid of that it willingly becomes an accomplice to Lee Jae-myung's Daejang-dong Gate corruption?"

He raised suspicions, saying, "Currently, the prosecution is hardly investigating the main body, the mastermind who created the corruption and bribery, which is the core of this issue, and instead is focusing on who among the operatives distributing the money and spoils from the corruption took how much," adding, "It seems they are trying to cover up the case by investigating the tail while hiding the main body."
