[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province and the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, visited Daejeon National Cemetery on the 11th as his first schedule after being selected as the candidate to pay respects.

Regarding why he chose to visit the National Cemetery as his first schedule, Candidate Lee explained, "The primary duty of the nation is security to protect the national community," and added, "I thought it was proper to be the first to pay respects to those who sacrificed for the national community."

After paying respects at the National Cemetery, Candidate Lee wrote in the guestbook, "I will repay the noble sacrifices of the patriotic martyrs with a growing fair society."
