Kim Jong-un Emphasizes "Resolving Residents' Food, Clothing, and Shelter"... First Commemorative Lecture on Party Founding Day

[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, expressed his intention to resolve the residents' food, clothing, and housing issues over the next five years during his first commemorative lecture marking the 76th anniversary of the Party's founding.

On the 11th, the Korean Central News Agency reported, "Comrade Kim Jong-un delivered a keynote speech titled 'Let us further improve and strengthen Party work in accordance with the new development phase of socialist construction' at the commemorative lecture for the 76th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea on October 10."

The agency conveyed that General Secretary Kim stated in his lecture, "The five-year plan period set by the 8th Party Congress will be an effective five years to boost the country's economy and solve the people's food, clothing, and housing problems, a five-year period of great transformation that will bring about another significant change to the landscape ahead of schedule, and our Party's determination and will to continuously carry out grand operations in the next stage to build a socialist power that the world envies."

Additionally, he mentioned that if Party cadres from the central to local levels perform well, "Our progress will be several times faster than now, and the better tomorrow that our people long for will be brought forward accordingly."

General Secretary Kim also warned against cadres infringing on the interests of residents or treating them carelessly, cautioning against the alienation of public sentiment caused by cadres' misconduct.
