District and Guryong Public Parking Lot Development Project Selected as Finalist for Prime Minister's Office Life SOC Complex Project, Securing 3 Billion KRW in National Funding
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Jo) announced that the Guryong Public Parking Lot Construction Project has been finally selected for the Living SOC Complex Project led by the Prime Minister's Office, securing 3 billion KRW in national funding.
The 'Living SOC Complex Project,' promoted by the Prime Minister's Office since 2019, is a project to expand living SOC by complexly creating infrastructure closely related to daily life to enhance public convenience in everyday life.
The district achieved the great feat of being finally selected for three consecutive years, including Yangjae Public Parking Lot and Banpo Sports Complex in 2019, Seocho-type Complex Welfare Town in 2020, and this year Guryong Public Parking Lot, securing a total of 17.8 billion KRW in national funding.
The newly selected Guryong Public Parking Lot Construction Project is a project to build a public parking lot and a living culture center together on the site of 301-6 Yangjae-dong, with 4 underground floors and 4 above-ground floors. From the 4th basement floor to the 1st floor above ground, 190 parking spaces will be created. The Yangjae-dong area is a residential area with serious parking difficulties such as illegal parking on side streets, and it is expected that the construction of the Guryong Public Parking Lot will solve the parking problems in this area.
In addition, the district plans to complexify the living culture center to support residents' leisure activities. On the 1st floor above ground, a new concept senior cultural leisure complex space called Neutinamu Shelter and Neulbom Cafe, which provides self-support and jobs for people with disabilities, will be installed. On the 2nd floor above ground, there will be Seoripul Nori School, a public indoor playground for infants and toddlers; on the 3rd floor, a cultural center including yoga classes and a book cafe; and on the 4th floor, an Artificial Intelligence Development Center will be established.
The district plans to complete the design by March next year, start construction in the first half of the year, and complete it in 2024.
Seocho-gu Mayor Eunhee Jo said, “Through the final selection of the Prime Minister's Office Living SOC Project, we will solve the residents' long-standing parking problems and simultaneously create a complex cultural space where residents can communicate and enjoy culture.” She added, “We will continue to carefully examine residents' inconveniences and expand living infrastructure to reduce daily life inconveniences.”
