Shinsegae Department Store Gyeonggi Branch Luxury Hall Renovation... "Doubled the Area Compared to Before"

Shinsegae Department Store Gyeonggi Branch Luxury Hall Renovation... "Doubled the Area Compared to Before" Shinsegae Department Store Gyeonggi Branch newly opened luxury and cosmetics specialty halls on two floors, basement level 1 to level 1, on the 8th.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Shinsegae Department Store Gyeonggi Branch announced on the 11th that it has newly opened luxury and cosmetics specialty halls on two floors, from basement level 1 to the 1st floor, after about a year of renovation. It is the first in the industry to introduce a luxury specialty hall on basement level 1. The total sales area of the luxury and cosmetics specialty halls has more than doubled to approximately 3,600 pyeong (11,841㎡) compared to before.

In the center of the basement luxury hall, a new space called the ‘Void’ with an area of about 50 pyeong was created by opening up the ceiling to increase the floor height. The Void was designed inspired by the rooftop in Venice, Italy. Just like climbing an observatory to enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful canals of Venice, the structure allows visitors to view both basement level 1 and the 1st floor simultaneously. This space plans to host pop-up events, performances, lectures, and exhibitions by luxury brands.

The basement level 1 luxury specialty hall features a unique wine bar. The ‘Haru Ilgwa’ wine bar, introduced in collaboration with wine importer Narasella, is a ‘shop and bar’ type that combines Shinsegae Wine House and a wine bar. It is characterized by offering over 1,200 varieties of wine in the store that can be enjoyed with food prepared directly by a chef.

The luxury specialty hall offers brands that were previously unavailable at the Gyeonggi branch. Marni, Max Mara, Philipp Plein, and Maison Margiela have opened this time, and new openings such as Loewe are planned in the future. Existing brands like Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci are also preparing to open. Differentiated stores such as premium perfume brands Diptyque, Memo Paris & Ex Nihilo, and the Wunder Shop Shoes, which exclusively gathers luxury shoes like Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo, are also introduced.

A Shinsegae Department Store official said, “Through the renovation of the luxury hall, the Gyeonggi branch has introduced differentiated offline content,” and added, “Based on continuous innovation in space and shopping, we will further solidify the status of the number one store in southern Gyeonggi.”
