Recognition of Medical Imaging Analysis Software Technology
Full-Scale Entry into Domestic and International Markets
Enhancing Corporate Value Ahead of KOSDAQ Listing
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Jeong-su] AI Medic Co., Ltd. (AI Medic), preparing for a KOSDAQ listing, announced on the 6th that it has been selected as a ‘K-Unicorn Rising Star’ by Korea Venture Investment Corp.
‘K-Unicorn Rising Star’ is a support program (hereinafter FIRST) operated by Korea Venture Investment Corp. to assist promising venture companies in attracting investment and expanding globally. It provides support such as fund recommendations, online investor relations (IR) presentations, investment attraction consulting, and venture capital (VC) mentoring to help the growth of selected companies.
AI Medic plans to actively utilize the FIRST program provided by Korea Venture Investment Corp. to accelerate the domestic and international market entry of its self-developed medical imaging analysis software, ‘AutoSeg-H’ and ‘HeartMedi’.
AutoSeg-H and HeartMedi are medical imaging analysis software that can quickly analyze cardiovascular diseases using only cardiac CT scans when patients with chest pain visit hospitals. These are medical software developed by AI Medic.
‘AutoSeg-H’ is medical device software that reconstructs and analyzes the coronary arteries, heart, and aortic valve in 3D using AI-based image segmentation techniques, and it received certification from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety last August.
HeartMedi is software that commercializes CT-FFR (Computed Fractional Flow Reserve) technology, which can measure FFR (Fractional Flow Reserve) using only CT images to determine whether blood flow is normal. This technology can replace the existing invasive FFR measurement methods that may involve patient pain, drug side effects, medical risks, and high costs.
An AI Medic official explained, "Heartflow, a US AI medical imaging analysis company, takes more than 24 hours from cardiovascular disease examination to result confirmation, but AI Medic’s medical imaging analysis software completes all processes within the hospital in about 20 minutes."
The official added, "If this software accelerates its global market entry, it will not only have a worldwide ripple effect but also help provide fast and accurate diagnoses related to heart diseases." He continued, "We will actively utilize the FIRST support program to strengthen our global competitiveness."
Meanwhile, AI Medic has received about 12.5 billion KRW in investments from Magna Investment, InterVest, and InterValue, recognizing its technological capabilities and business potential. In July last year, it selected Kiwoom Securities as the lead manager to prepare for its KOSDAQ listing.
