[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] LG Uplus announced on the 6th that it will showcase mobility technologies and services, including 5G autonomous vehicles, at the ‘2021 Green New Deal Expo’ in collaboration with ACELAB.
The event, held at KINTEX in Goyang City until the 8th, features over 50 participants including institutions and companies leading the green new deal industry and global mobility companies, under the slogan ‘The Future of Clean Energy with the Hydrogen Expo.’
At this expo, LG Uplus plans to introduce core autonomous driving technologies to visitors. Together with ACELAB, they will present autonomous driving technologies such as autonomous parking, 5G control, dynamic maps, precise positioning, autonomous driving big data collection and analysis solutions, as well as carpotainment services.
In particular, visitors can see the actual 5G autonomous vehicle jointly developed by LG Uplus and ACELAB at this event. The two companies previously conducted the world’s first 5G-based autonomous driving demonstration on Gangbyeonbuk-ro and Olympic-daero. In December last year, they also succeeded in autonomous valet parking using a real-time parking space recognition solution and a 5G cloud control service platform in the autonomous driving pilot zone in Sangam-dong, Seoul.
LG Uplus provides autonomous driving services and infrastructure in Siheung Baegot New Town, as well as in the autonomous driving regulatory free zones of Sejong City and Gwangju City. An LG Uplus official said, “Through this expo, we hope to widely promote LG Uplus’s mobility business and technological capabilities to visitors and create opportunities for collaboration with various companies.”
