By region, there were 43 in Gimhae, 20 in Yangsan, 20 in Haman, 19 in Changwon, 9 in Jinju, 3 in Changnyeong, 2 in Uiryeong, 1 in Miryang, and 1 in Geochang.
By infection route, 70 cases were foreigners, and the remaining 48 were Koreans.
Among the 43 confirmed cases in Gimhae, 37 were contacts of confirmed cases within the province: 15 coworkers, 14 acquaintances, 7 family members, and 1 contact through movement. Two were contacts of confirmed cases related to a foreign restaurantⅡ located in Gimhae. The related cumulative confirmed cases total 43.
Three were tested due to symptom onset, and their infection routes are under investigation. The remaining 2 cases, one in Gimhae and one in Changwon, were users or contacts of confirmed cases related to a foreign restaurant located in Gimhae. The related cumulative confirmed cases total 110.
In Changwon, among the 19 cases, 7 were contacts of confirmed cases within the province: 2 family members, 2 acquaintances, 2 contacts through movement, and 1 coworker. Eight were confirmed cases related to a factory located in Changwon. The cumulative confirmed cases total 33.
In Yangsan, among the 20 confirmed cases, 3 were confirmed cases related to a medical institution located in Yangsan, all of whom were patients. They tested positive during tests conducted every three days while in isolation. The related cumulative confirmed cases total 111.
Thirteen were confirmed cases related to a factory located in Yangsan, including 12 workers and 1 contact. Additionally, one confirmed case identified yesterday was a family member of a worker, increasing the related cumulative confirmed cases to 59.
Four were contacts of confirmed cases within the province: 2 coworkers, 1 family member, and 1 acquaintance.
The 20 confirmed cases in Haman, 9 in Jinju, and 2 in Uiryeong, totaling 31, were confirmed cases related to a manufacturing companyⅢ located in Haman, all workers. The related cumulative confirmed cases total 41.
Among the 3 confirmed cases in Changnyeong, 2 were acquaintances of confirmed cases within the province.
The single confirmed case in Miryang was a coworker of a confirmed case within the province and tested positive during symptom onset testing while in isolation.
The single confirmed case in Geochang was a contact of a confirmed case in Asan, Chungnam.
Accordingly, the cumulative confirmed cases in the province increased to 11,888 (878 hospitalized, 10,976 discharged, 34 deceased).
A Gyeongnam official stated, "Foreigners often engage in active group community activities and frequently live together, and their low vaccination rate may also be a cause of infection spread," adding, "We will actively encourage foreigners not only to comply with quarantine rules but also to participate in vaccination."
