Netflix stated on the same day, "The production company and Netflix are making their best efforts to resolve the situation amicably," and "We have decided to replace some scenes where phone numbers appear." They also politely requested fans to refrain from prank calls or messages.
Previously, some scenes in "Squid Game" exposed an 8-digit phone number, causing distress to the actual owner of the number and others with similar numbers. Additionally, an account number of a bankbook used by one of the production staff was exposed, leading some fans to actually transfer money.
"Squid Game" is a work depicting a survival game where participants risk their lives to win a prize of 45.6 billion won, and it has maintained the number one position worldwide in the Netflix TV program category for 12 consecutive days.
