[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Jo Seong-eun, the whistleblower in the 'accusation manipulation' scandal, filed a lawsuit against People Power Party officials, claiming they "falsely accused her."
On the afternoon of the 5th, Jo filed a complaint with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office against former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, and lawmakers Kim Woong, Kwon Seong-dong, Jang Je-won, as well as former lawmakers Joo Kwang-deok, Park Min-sik, and Kim Kyung-jin, on charges including false accusation, defamation, and violation of the Public Official Election Act.
Jo asserted that the allegations of spreading false information under the Information and Communications Network Act and violating the Public Official Election Act, which were claimed when Yoon's presidential campaign team reported her to the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (HCIC) on the 13th of last month, are false. On the 30th of last month, Jo also filed a lawsuit against People Power Party lawmakers, including floor leader Kim Ki-hyun, for defamation.
On the same day, Kim Han-me, representative of the Citizens' Action for Judicial Justice, also filed a complaint against former Prosecutor General Yoon for violating the Public Official Election Act by falsely stating during a TV debate that he had no personal relationship with Kim Man-bae, the largest shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu Asset Management.
