[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jin-Hyung Park] On the 5th, Gwangju Main Customs Office (Customs Director Seung-Hwan Jeong) signed a "Comprehensive Support Agreement for Wando Seafood Exports" with the Wando Seafood Export Logistics Cooperative at the Wando Seafood Export Logistics Center to strengthen the export competitiveness of agricultural and marine food products.
This agreement was promoted to systematically support exports by fostering local seafood export companies and expanding export markets through establishing a cooperative system with producer organizations of agricultural and marine food products.
The main contents of the agreement include building a mutual cooperation system to ▲support overseas market development and overall export activities of seafood export companies ▲provide comprehensive export consulting including export and FTA utilization ▲share major issues and information ▲identify export-related difficulties and prepare support measures.
Seung-Hwan Jeong, Director of Gwangju Main Customs Office, stated, “Taking this agreement as an opportunity, we will actively strive to strengthen the external competitiveness of local small and medium food companies and revitalize exports, and through this, we hope that Wando’s high-quality seafood will reach worldwide markets.”
Nam-Gyu Park, Chairman of the Wando Seafood Export Logistics Cooperative, said, “We express our gratitude to Gwangju Main Customs Office for their interest in Wando seafood exports and regional development, and we ask for continuous attention and support so that our cooperative can further develop.”
Gwangju Main Customs Office and the Wando Seafood Export Logistics Cooperative plan to mutually cooperate so that promising local small and medium food companies can grow into global export companies, riding the popularity of K-FOOD.
