Secured Over 7.6 Billion KRW in National Funds... 15.3ha Forest Planned

On the 5th, Jeonbuk Province announced that six projects were selected for the 2022-2023 fine dust blocking forest creation project, securing 7.65 billion KRW in national funding.
The selected areas this time include 15.3 hectares of idle land near the Jeonju and Wanju industrial complexes, Gunsan Saedeul Neighborhood Park, and abandoned railway sites in Gunsan and Iksan.
Jeonbuk Province plans to invest 15.3 billion KRW, including the secured national and local funds, and carry out the projects over one year in 2022 and two years from 2022 to 2023, depending on the scale.
The fine dust blocking forest project involves creating forests around fine dust sources such as industrial complexes and major roads, absorbing, adsorbing, and blocking fine dust through trees.
In addition, Jeonbuk Province stated that the 2022 Child Safety Green Forest Creation Project for creating pleasant and safe school routes selected the sections from Iksan Iri Baekje Elementary School to Iri Mahan Elementary School and from Wanju Cheongwan Elementary School to Bongseo Elementary School, securing 200 million KRW in national funding, and plans to start the project early next year.
