DGB Daegu Bank Celebrates 54th Anniversary with 'October ESG Practice Day' Event

DGB Daegu Bank Celebrates 54th Anniversary with 'October ESG Practice Day' Event

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] DGB Daegu Bank announced on the 5th that it will hold the ‘ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Practice Day’ event throughout October with local residents to enhance corporate social responsibility and spread positive influence in celebration of its 54th anniversary.

Under the slogan, “DGB Daegu Bank spreading positive influence celebrates its 54th anniversary by practicing ESG together with customers,” customers can participate in this campaign through the ‘Instagram Certification Event with DGB Daegu Bank and Customers.’

The event is conducted by certifying participation in ESG activities and the use of local delivery apps on Instagram feeds, and the ESG activity event will be held until the 28th. Participants can upload photos related to climate change response, eco-friendly activities, community contribution, and overall ESG activities with hashtags (#DGBDaeguBank #DGB54thAnniversary #1stAnniversaryOfAppointment #DGBESG).

Participation is also possible by regramming the announcement feed uploaded on DGB Daegu Bank’s official Instagram account and adding the hashtags. To commemorate the 54th anniversary, 54 people will be selected weekly by lottery to receive Starbucks gifticons or points for local delivery apps Daeguro (Daegu-type delivery app) and Meokkebi (Gyeongbuk-type delivery app).

From the perspective of corporate social responsibility management, all DGB Daegu Bank employees will actively install and use the local public delivery apps Daeguro and Meokkebi. Campaigns to promote and activate usage with local residents will also be conducted, and certification of local public delivery app use, like the Instagram ESG event, will automatically enter participants into prize draws. In particular, using the DGB Daegu Bank BC card for delivery app orders throughout October will provide a discount benefit of 4,000 KRW.

As part of responsible management to revitalize the local economy affected by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the bank will provide information on free support programs for self-employed individuals through the DGB Shoulder-to-Shoulder Comprehensive Support Center, encourage local win-win activities, and hold blood donation events by DGB employees to address local blood shortages. Additionally, to celebrate the 54th anniversary, a variety of events will continue throughout the month, including an online Dokdo photo exhibition commemorating Dokdo Day in October, special Dokdo product sales, and a screen golf tournament.

President Lim Sung-hoon said, “DGB Daegu Bank, which has grown with the love of customers, asks for active participation in the ESG event held with customers to celebrate its 54th anniversary. We hope this will be an opportunity to pay more attention to environmental protection and revitalization of the local economy.” He added, “Despite the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to do our best to support customers who are doing their best in their places and strive to achieve the goal of customer satisfaction management as the ‘No. 1 bank that makes customers wealthy through assistance.’”
