On the 3rd, members of multicultural families arrived at Ulleungdo and are taking commemorative photos.
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Aekyung Industrial announced on the 5th that it conducted a ‘Dokdo and Ulleungdo Exploration Healing Cultural Experience Camp’ for multicultural families in collaboration with the nonprofit organization People Sharing Hope.
Aekyung Industrial decided to support this initiative to help members of multicultural families have an opportunity to feel pride and self-esteem as citizens of the Republic of Korea.
In particular, to mark October as Dokdo Month, the camp’s travel destinations were set as Dokdo and Ulleungdo, islands that every Korean should visit at least once but are usually difficult to access, as they are part of our territory.
Aekyung Industrial fully covered the expenses for transportation, accommodation, and meals for 40 members of multicultural families selected as camp participants. The camp was held from October 2 to 4 for 2 nights and 3 days, targeting those who had completed their second COVID-19 vaccination, and all participants underwent COVID-19 testing the day before the camp started.
An Aekyung Industrial official said, “The planned Dokdo exploration on October 3 was regrettably canceled as the boat returned due to bad weather, so participants could only see Dokdo from a distance without docking. Aekyung Industrial will continue to make efforts so that members of multicultural families can have dreams and hope as citizens of the Republic of Korea.”
