Elementary Students' Stressful Danso Performance Assessment, No Longer Difficult!
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Jeonnam Provincial Gugak Orchestra (Artistic Director Ryu Hyung-sun) announced on the 4th that it will release the online education program "Ggakji Son e Gugak" Danso Edition every Tuesday and Thursday at 11 a.m. from the 7th to the 28th through its YouTube channel.
As the first installment of "Ggakji Son e Gugak," created to revitalize gugak education, it aims to completely master the "Danso," a frequent performance assessment in the elementary school curriculum and a source of stress for many elementary students due to the difficulty of producing sound.
The lectures will be conducted by Yoon Am-hyun, a permanent member of the Jeonnam Provincial Gugak Orchestra and Danso player, and Kang Won-jip, who will teach from the basics of finger positioning and sound production to practical exercises focusing on folk songs and traditional children's songs included in the elementary curriculum over four weeks.
Ryu Hyung-sun, Artistic Director of the Jeonnam Provincial Gugak Orchestra, said, "Danso is actually not difficult to produce sound if you concentrate a little, and with a bit more interest, you can play various folk songs. I hope this 'Ggakji Son e Gugak' Danso Edition, taught by two cheerful and refreshing members, will be an exceptionally friendly guide for students and widely used in elementary school classrooms."
Meanwhile, as part of efforts to increase the proportion of gugak education in elementary music education, the Jeonnam Provincial Gugak Orchestra plans to continuously collaborate in creating various teaching materials and educational content, including the "Ggakji Son e Gugak" project.
