[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] GS Retail's convenience store GS25 and popular singer Lee Chan-won's fan club 'Chance' are spreading positive influence together.

On the 3rd, GS25 announced that on the 1st, a donation ceremony was held at Dong-gu Office in Daegu, attended by Jeon Gwang-ho, Head of GS25 Sales Division, Bae Ki-cheol, Mayor of Dong-gu, Daegu, and representatives of the fan club Chance, where daily necessities worth 20 million KRW and GS25 discount coupons were delivered to low-income households in the Dong-gu area.

This donation began with Lee Chan-won's participation in the 'Let's Go Together! Dong-gu Healing Concert' hosted by the Daegu Dong-gu Cultural Foundation on the 2nd. Members of Lee Chan-won's fan club decided to carry out meaningful social contribution activities to add significance to the concert held in Lee Chan-won's hometown, Daegu. Encouraged by the popularity of Lee Chan-won's recently released single album song 'Convenience Store,' and as he is actively working as the official CF model for GS25, the fan club expressed this intention to GS25, which responded positively, leading to donations for low-income families in Dong-gu, Daegu, who have been struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

GS25 delivered 5,000 discount coupons worth 2,000 KRW each, reflecting the meaning of Lee Chan-won's name, and the fan club Chance donated rice (10 kg) 200 bags and 4,092 units of GS25's representative PB ramen 'Omori Kimchi Stew Ramen,' totaling about 10 million KRW, making the total value of goods and coupons delivered approximately 20 million KRW.

Earlier, GS25 selected Lee Chan-won as the official CF model and held an online live fan meeting through GS25's YouTube channel 'Iri Onora' on the 15th of last month. Through various programs such as Q&A with the singer, quiz time, reading convenience store stories, and mukbang combinations, about 100 minutes of fun communication time was shared with fans.

Jeon Gwang-ho, Head of GS25 Sales Division, said, "It is an honor to carry out this donation event together with singer Lee Chan-won's fan club, who practice positive influence," and added, "We will continue to contribute to the development of the Daegu region through various social contribution activities."
