In a post on social media that day, Kang questioned, "Would any reasonable citizen agree that the 5 billion won was a performance retirement bonus and that everything is a misunderstanding?" He added, "The 5 billion won is a bribe to Representative Kwak Sang-do, and if the bribery charge under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes is established, it is a serious crime punishable by a maximum of life imprisonment or a minimum of 10 years in prison."

He said, "However, before talking about the 5 billion won bribery charge, he was the mastermind behind the past forged suicide note incident and the anti-communist fabrication," adding, "There are people who lived their lives unfairly and passed away, and through him, the dark era continued longer." He concluded, "The price he must pay is the principle of retribution, the karmic retribution for committing a bad deed."

Kang said, "Still, today, I want to welcome the restoration of 'delayed justice' even if just a little."

Meanwhile, Representative Kwak held a press conference at the National Assembly communication office that morning and declared his resignation from the National Assembly, saying, "Regarding this matter, any statement I make will only cause greater misunderstanding and distrust will not be lifted."

At the same time, Representative Kwak insisted on a thorough investigation of Lee Jae-myung, the governor of Gyeonggi Province and a leading presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea.
