[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] The additional advance reservation for COVID-19 vaccines for unvaccinated individuals aged 18 and over will close on the 30th. However, health authorities plan to allow vaccinations at medical institutions without reservations starting from the 18th of next month.
Kim Gi-nam, Head of the Vaccination Planning Division at the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team, stated at the regular briefing of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency on the afternoon of the 30th, "Advance reservations for unvaccinated individuals will be accepted until 6 p.m. today (the 30th)," and urged, "Those who have not yet made a reservation are encouraged to do so promptly."
As of midnight on the 30th, 12 days after the advance reservation began on the 18th for 5,860,648 unvaccinated individuals, only 421,516 had made reservations, accounting for just 7.2%. By age group, those in their 50s showed the highest reservation rate at 11.4%, followed by ▲18?29 years old at 7.9%, ▲60s at 7.0%, ▲40s at 6.7%, ▲30s at 6.2%, ▲70s at 4.0%, and ▲80 and above at 1.8%.
Vaccinations for these individuals will be conducted on the reserved dates between the 1st and 16th of next month. If you have not yet made a reservation, you can search for leftover vaccines on portals such as Naver or Kakao, or receive leftover vaccine vaccinations by inquiring at medical institutions.
Furthermore, starting from the 18th of next month, unvaccinated individuals will be able to receive vaccinations immediately by visiting medical institutions on the same day after confirming the available vaccine stock without prior reservation. Kim explained, "This plan will allow unvaccinated individuals to get vaccinated anytime through leftover or available vaccines at medical institutions if they wish."
