Namwon-si Invests 3.2 Billion Won to Create 'Baekdudaegan Eco Garden'


[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City in Jeonbuk is building spaces for ecological observation and experience programs, camping sites, centered around the Baekdudaegan Ecological Education Center exhibition hall.


The city announced on the 30th that by 2024, it will invest 3.2 billion KRW to create an eco-garden consisting of 11 spaces including a natural experience area, Baekdudaegan ecological pond, native moss garden, wind sound resting area, and net playground.


This project is part of the Baekdudaegan Ecotourism Belt Development Project, a Jeonbuk Province ecotourism site promotion support project pursued as a campaign pledge of the 6th and 7th provincial governors. The city held an interim report meeting on the 'Baekdudaegan Eco Garden Construction Project Basic and Detailed Design Service' on the 29th to discuss specific development directions.


The project aims to develop and utilize the excellent ecological resources in the Unbong-eup area located at the foot of Jirisan Mountain in an eco-friendly manner to enhance regional brand value and promote tourism for income increase, with construction scheduled to begin in December.


A city official said, "We will build an eco-garden based on the excellent ecological resources of Baekdudaegan that only our city possesses," adding, "Through this, we will expand the influx of family unit tourists, the main target group."
