AlSquare Launches Logistics Center Brokerage Business... Builds Database of 10,000 Entries

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] RSquare, a comprehensive commercial real estate solutions company, is making a full-scale entry into the logistics center brokerage market. To this end, it has built the largest domestic logistics center database (DB).

RSquare announced on the 30th that it has completed a full survey and database construction of more than 10,000 logistics warehouses across South Korea, covering the entire Gyeonggi Province and Incheon City, as well as eight regions in Chungcheong Province (Cheonan, Cheongju, Eumseong, Goesan, Jincheon, Daejeon, Sejong, Okcheon, Gyeryong), Wonju in Gangwon Province, and four regions in Busan, Daegu, and Yeongnam (Yangsan, Gimhae, Changwon, Jinhae). The collection of site information for urban-type MFCs (Micro Fulfillment Centers) and cross-docking facilities within Seoul is also in its final stages.

Based on this, RSquare plans to leverage its dominant position in the office real estate market to accelerate the construction of the domestic logistics DB and the logistics center brokerage business. Recently, RSquare brokered some centers for Coupang and UPS home delivery centers. It also brokered the Lotte Food Gimhae Center, Trendy, and PCDirect logistics centers, and completed lease and sale advisory contracts for the Ilmi Logistics Center located in Icheon.

Lee Yong-gyun, CEO of RSquare, stated, "We are managing logistics warehouse listings systematically linked with ICT (Information and Communication Technology)," adding, "Our goal is to conduct a full survey of 15,000 nationwide logistics warehouses with a total area of over 500 pyeong within this year."

The logistics center DB built by RSquare this time was created through a full survey method, where managers directly visited sites to collect and build information. RSquare explained, "We manage information with more than 20 detailed items such as warehouse type and area, presence of refrigerated or frozen warehouses, distance to the nearest IC (interchange), docking type, and presence of ramps," and added, "Through direct visits and full surveys, we have DBized information on both large and small-to-medium logistics warehouses."

Meanwhile, RSquare currently provides office real estate information for KB Kookmin Bank's Live On and Woori Bank WM. It has secured a cumulative investment amount of 15.8 billion KRW from SoftBank Ventures Asia and Bon Angels, among others. The company operates the customized office real estate solution 'RSquare' and its interior subsidiary 'RSquare Design.'
