Home&Shopping Launches Consumer Protection Committee... "Committed to Safeguarding Consumer Rights" Consumer Protection Committee


[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Home&Shopping (CEO Kim Ok-chan) announced on the 30th that it has launched the 'Consumer Protection Committee' to strengthen the protection of consumer rights.


On the 29th, Home&Shopping held the first meeting along with the appointment of committee members at its headquarters in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. The Consumer Protection Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Committee) consists of one consumer policy expert, five consumer representatives, and three internal members, and will carry out activities to improve Home&Shopping's consumer policies for one year.


The chairperson was appointed as Professor Lee Eun-hee of the Department of Consumer Studies at Inha University, a consumer policy expert, to ensure expertise. The consumer representatives were selected from five members of the customer monitoring evaluation group, carefully chosen from 150 members of the Home&Shopping Customer Advisory Group.


The Committee will perform various roles through quarterly regular meetings, including ▲ sharing agendas and improvement results of internal customer satisfaction meetings ▲ proposing ideas for consumer policy improvements ▲ reviewing issues raised by the customer monitoring evaluation group.


Home&Shopping plans to actively reflect the improvement opinions and suggestions presented by consumer representatives and external experts in the Committee throughout company operations, thereby leading not only institutional consumer rights protection but also practical activities to improve consumer complaints.


A Home&Shopping official said, "The secret to Home&Shopping's rapid growth since its establishment has been consistent communication with customers," adding, "We will become a more trusted company by actively reflecting the opinions of viewers and customers."
