Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Reflects in the 5th National and Local Road Construction Plan
[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 29th that "a total of 3 projects were included in the '5th National Road and Local Road Construction Plan (’21~’25)' announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport."
The local road construction projects in Yangju City reflected in the five-year plan are ▲ Local Road No. 39 (Songchu~Bugok) ▲ Local Road No. 39 (Baekseok~Gwangjeok) ▲ Local Road No. 98 (Baekseok~Yuyang), totaling 3 projects with a total length of 6.5 km and a scale of 126.3 billion KRW.
The Local Road No. 39 'Songchu~Bugok' project involves an investment of 51.1 billion KRW to expand the 2-lane road to 4 lanes over a 2.5 km extension from Bugok-ri, Jangheung-myeon, Hoguk-ro to the starting point of Local Road No. 39 (Jangheung~Gwangjeok).
The 'Baekseok~Gwangjeok' project, worth 35.6 billion KRW, will widen the 1.9 km stretch from Hongjuk-ri, Baekseok-eup to Gwangseok-ri, Gwangjeok-myeon to 4 lanes, expecting to activate surrounding development projects such as the Gwangjeok housing development project.
The 'Baekseok~Yuyang' project involves constructing and expanding a 2-lane bottleneck section to 4 lanes from Hongjuk-ri, Baekseok-eup to Osan Samgeori in Yuyang-dong, with a total project cost of 39.6 billion KRW.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to promote these projects included in the 5th construction plan annually within the budget scope, from design to phased implementation.
Lee Seong-ho, mayor of Yangju City, said, "The inclusion of 3 projects in the 5th National Road and Local Road Construction Plan is an unprecedented great achievement and will serve as a cornerstone to complete the metropolitan road network in the western region along with the 'Local Road No. 360 (Yeongok~Bangseong) alternative bypass road' and the 'Seoul~Yangju Expressway.'"
