Samsung Asset Management Launches 'Samsung Global Semiconductor Fund'

[Asia Economy Reporter Junho Hwang] Samsung Asset Management launched the 'Samsung Global Semiconductor Fund' on the 29th, which focuses on investing primarily in the top 20 global semiconductor companies by revenue.

This product is the industry's first public offering fund that constructs a global semiconductor portfolio including Korea. It invests in global semiconductor companies from Korea, the United States, Taiwan, Japan, and Europe, including Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Unlike existing index funds and ETFs that track indices such as the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, this fund enables investment encompassing leading domestic semiconductor companies with technological competitiveness like Samsung Electronics.

A Samsung Asset Management official stated, "This is an attractive product that allows easy diversified investment in 20 core companies worldwide with outstanding revenue among semiconductor firms," adding, "It is recommended for investors who want to invest in the semiconductor industry as a whole, which is showing structural growth beyond the cycle."

The fund is available for subscription through Samsung Securities starting from the 29th. The total fee is 1.34% per annum based on the online class (Ce) standard.
