[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] KT&G Scholarship Foundation announced on the 29th that it will hold a ‘Social Innovation Startup Idea Contest’ for university students to discover social innovation talents.
The ‘Social Innovation Startup Idea Contest’ is conducted to discover and nurture social innovation talents who realize social values and grow together, focusing on themes such as ▲eco-friendliness ▲social innovation ▲solving local community problems.
This contest accepts applications from teams of 2 to 4 university students until October 22. Detailed information can be found on the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency website.
The first round of screening will be a document review, selecting 15 teams through fair evaluation by experts in related fields. Selected teams will undergo training and interview evaluations, and the final 10 teams will be announced on November 30. All 10 final teams will receive a scholarship and a certificate, and the top 6 teams among them will receive additional prize money.
Meanwhile, KT&G Scholarship Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency to ensure smooth progress of the ‘Social Innovation Startup Idea Contest’ and to establish a cooperative system for spreading social values and discovering social innovation talents.
A KT&G Scholarship Foundation official stated, “We expect this contest to raise university students’ awareness of social issues and generate innovative ideas,” adding, “We will continue scholarship projects to contribute to spreading social values and nurturing future generations through various activities.”
