The total number of employees across the 24 companies increased by 3,815 (1%), from 379,605 to 383,419 during the same period. By gender, female employees increased by 1,854 (2.6%) and male employees by 1,961 (0.6%).

Byun Ji-seong, team leader at JobKorea, assessed, "It is meaningful that the number of employees at the surveyed companies slightly increased despite the sluggish hiring market in the first half." He added, "Although there are some difficulties due to the resurgence of COVID-19, companies tend to concentrate hiring in the second half rather than the first half. With recent changes in trends such as frequent hiring and online recruitment, an increase in employment at large companies in the second half is also worth expecting."
