[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Barogo is introducing the use of reusable containers at the kitchen platform 'Dosijubang Yeoksam Branch.'
Barogo, a startup operating a last-mile logistics IT platform, announced on the 29th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Itgreen, a zero-waste container return service company, to promote the use of eco-friendly reusable containers.
Dosijubang is a kitchen platform that aims to provide operational services beyond the traditional rental-based shared kitchens. Barogo supports various consulting services, including sharing delivery know-how with tenant stores. Dosijubang Yeoksam Branch, the second kitchen platform following the first branch in Mapo, opened on the 27th in the basement space of WeWork Yeoksam Station Branch 2.
Barogo and Itgreen will support the use of eco-friendly reusable containers at tenant stores in Dosijubang Yeoksam Branch. Reusable containers will be provided upon consumer request during dine-in or delivery orders, and Itgreen will handle the collection. Both companies plan to expand the use of eco-friendly reusable containers starting with Dosijubang Yeoksam Branch and including the first branch in Mapo.
Lee Jun-hyung, CEO of Itgreen, said, "As an eco startup, Itgreen is expanding its service area to reduce single-use product consumption and carbon emissions through the ReturnIt service. Through this agreement, we want to take the lead in enabling more consumers to experience eco-friendly consumption by leveraging Barogo’s platform and delivery capabilities."
Ryu Jae-min, Director of Business Development Group at Barogo, said, "We have been considering the role Barogo can play to address environmental issues caused by the recent surge in delivery demand. We will continue to build an eco-friendly delivery culture to practice zero waste."
