The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 29th that it has approved the district plans for public housing districts in two new housing sites, Seongnam Nakseong District and Uijeongbu Ujeong District, which were announced as part of the '300,000 Housing Supply Plan for the Seoul Metropolitan Area.'


Seongnam Nakseong District, where 4,181 households will be supplied, is being developed as a project area that can share living zones with Bundang and Pangyo New Towns. It features excellent accessibility to Seoul and other areas due to good metropolitan transportation, including the Yongin-Seoul Expressway, Bundang-Suseo Urban Expressway, Bundang Line, and Shinbundang Line.


A waterside park linked with Nakseong Reservoir is being created, providing a pleasant residential environment. Approximately 900 public sale units will be supplied through the second round of preliminary subscription next month. These houses are scheduled to undergo the main subscription by the end of 2023 and be ready for occupancy in 2026.

Uijeongbu Ujeong District boasts an excellent location within 1 km of Nokyang Station on Subway Line 1. It is about 3 km away from the Gyeonggi Northern Government Complex, Uijeongbu City Hall, and Yangju City Hall. The area will be developed as a city with outstanding accessibility between living zones in the northern Gyeonggi region, connected to Yangju City via Seoburo and Pyeongharo roads. Nearby the project site, river corridors such as Nokyangcheon and Jungnangcheon provide abundant park green spaces.


A total of 4,017 households will be supplied in Uijeongbu Ujeong District. Among them, about 1,000 public sale units will be preferentially supplied through the second round of preliminary subscription next month. These houses will undergo the main subscription by the end of next year and be ready for occupancy in 2025.


With the approval of the district plans for the two new housing sites, all district plans for the second round of preliminary subscription project sites have been completed. The preliminary subscription recruitment announcement will begin on the 15th of next month. The district plans for the two approved project sites were established with the participation of experts in urban planning, transportation, environment, and local governments, and went through the Public Housing Integrated Deliberation Committee review.


Kim Su-sang, Director of the Housing and Land Office at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, emphasized, "We will make every effort to ensure the preliminary subscription for the 28,000 households planned for this year." He added, "The government will steadily implement not only the preliminary subscription but also the August 4th Supply Plan and the 3080+ Housing Supply Plan to continuously expand opportunities for homeownership for actual homebuyers without housing."
