[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Yoo Seung-min, a presidential candidate from the People Power Party, asserted on the 28th that Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung should undergo a special prosecutor investigation and a National Assembly state audit regarding the Daejang-dong development scandal.
On the same day, Yoo stated through social media (SNS), "Allegations of corruption in Daejang-dong are pouring out," and pointed out, "Lee’s closest aides are involved, Lee himself designed the scheme, granted permits to Hwacheon Daeyu, and those who made money there are a greedy legal cartel that crosses party lines, which has been revealed as fact so far."
He added, "The governor is struggling to escape through all sorts of wordplay and diversion," and criticized, "Even though the project operator was selected in one day as scripted and allegations of corruption among close aides are pouring out, instead of reflecting, he only blames the media and the opposition party." Yoo questioned, "Aren’t the shameless people who robbed the housing welfare of ordinary citizens the real thieves? Is this the Lee Jae-myung Gate or the People Power Party Gate?"
Yoo demanded, "Whoever from the People Power Party is involved should be thoroughly investigated and punished if guilty," and insisted, "Governor Lee and the Democratic Party must immediately accept a special prosecutor investigation and a state audit." He emphasized, "It must be thoroughly revealed through a special prosecutor and a state audit."
He predicted, "The future moves of Governor Lee, the architect of the Hwacheon Daeyu Gate, are obvious," and said, "Whenever articles exposing the Hwacheon Daeyu gang’s corruption come out, he will divert attention, standing at the pinnacle of the Daejang-dong Gate, claiming that although there are so many corrupt people, he himself is unrelated and clean."
Yoo warned, "If Governor Lee and the Democratic Party ultimately refuse the special prosecutor investigation and state audit, Yoo Seung-min will become president and sweep all illegal and corrupt criminals involved in this ugly gate into prison."
