[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jin-Hyung Park] The Seobu Fire Station of Gwangju Metropolitan City (Chief Yang Young-gyu) conducted an emergency rescue drill on the 28th to establish an on-site command system and ensure rapid emergency response.
This drill was conducted by utilizing the equipment owned by the station to check the task familiarity of each department within the Emergency Rescue Control Team and improve response capabilities by assigning virtual training scenarios, as comprehensive drills involving many participants from related organizations were avoided due to COVID-19.
Along with the drill, an unannounced emergency contact network check was conducted for 11 support agencies of the Seo-gu Emergency Rescue Control Team to establish a response posture.
Yang Young-gyu, Chief of Seobu Fire Station, stated, “Although the drills are being scaled down due to COVID-19, we will do our best to conduct thorough training to ensure that the safety of citizens is never compromised.”
