Gwangju Shinsegae to Transform into 'Italia' Starting October

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Dong-hoon) will transform into Italy starting in October.

Gwangju Shinsegae announced on the 28th that it will hold an event under the theme "Italy We Didn't Know" from the 1st to the 17th of next month to celebrate the autumn regular sale.

Targeting customers whose desire for overseas travel has increased since COVID-19, the department store has prepared various enjoyable experiences to let visitors fully feel the atmosphere of Italy on-site.

First, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), about 26 brands including fashion brands representing Italy such as CP Company, Benetton, Sisley, and gourmet brands will participate.

Additionally, an Italian zone will be set up in the wine shop on the basement first floor, where many products will be sold at discounted prices ranging from 10% to 30% off.

A Magnum photo exhibition capturing the life of Italians by Magnum photographers will also be held.

Under the name "Scenes from Italy 展," it can be viewed for free at the Gwangju Shinsegae Gallery on the first floor from the 1st to the 12th.

Scenes of Italy photographed by famous Magnum photographers reinterpret classics such as "Roman Holiday," "Cold Fever," and "Ben-Hur" through the eyes of Magnum masters, providing a new experience.

Also, in the plaza on the first floor, a photo zone has been prepared where visitors can feel Italian culture and streets through autumn travel to the Leaning Tower of Pisa and a production of the heart of Rome, the Colosseum.

The atmosphere has been further enhanced with various products composed of Italian brands and production zones throughout the store.

CEO Lee Dong-hoon said, "We have prepared an event where customers exhausted by COVID-19 can safely feel Italy in the city," adding, "We will continue to strive for differentiated content that leads customer lifestyles."
