[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank (President Song Jong-wook) announced the launch of the ‘Jeogeumtong Savings Account,’ which helps customers accumulate a lump sum through small savings by providing a ‘Jjantech Service,’ and simultaneously offers additional preferential interest rates to customers who have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
The ‘Jeogeumtong Savings Account’ can be opened with an initial deposit of 1 won or more for a 2-year or 3-year term, and additional deposits can be freely made within a monthly saving limit of 300,000 won.
The basic interest rate is 1.3% per annum (based on the 3-year term), with an additional 0.6 percentage points per annum provided when the ‘Jjantech Service’ is linked to the ‘Jeogeumtong Savings Account,’ and an additional 0.3 percentage points per annum when the customer agrees to the collection, use, and provision of personal (credit) information (including product and service guidance) after opening the savings account.
Furthermore, until December 31 of next year, an additional preferential interest rate event will be held, offering an extra 0.2 percentage points per annum to customers who complete the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination and submit proof of vaccination, allowing them to receive a maximum interest rate of 2.4% per annum.
Customers can apply by visiting branches or through mobile web banking, and for non-face-to-face new applications, detailed information from the COVID-19 vaccination certificate or vaccination sticker can be entered.
In particular, the ‘Jjantech Service’ provided by the ‘Jeogeumtong Savings Account’ reflects current financial trends such as Jjantech and fractional investment, attracting attention by offering not only a way to accumulate a lump sum but also the enjoyment of finance.
The ‘Jjantech Service’ is a financial technology service that automatically transfers daily the leftover amounts under 10,000 won from low-interest deposit and withdrawal accounts to the ‘Jeogeumtong Savings Account,’ helping customers accumulate a lump sum with small amounts without financial burden.
Song Jong-wook, President of Gwangju Bank, said, “We ask for much interest and support for the ‘Jeogeumtong Savings Account,’ launched to support our customers’ wise financial lives by reflecting their needs and financial trends,” and added, “We will continue to accompany our customers by introducing financial products and services that add various benefits to their lifestyles.”
