[AK Poll] Hypothetical Binary Matchup, Lee Jae-myung 38.3% vs Yoon Seok-youl 47.8%


[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] In a hypothetical one-on-one presidential race between Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province and presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, and Yoon Seok-yeol, former Prosecutor General and presidential candidate of the People Power Party, Yoon leads Lee by 9.5 percentage points.


According to a poll conducted by Asia Economy through Winzig Korea Consulting from the 25th to 26th among 1,016 voters nationwide aged 18 and over (100% mobile phone virtual numbers, automated response), Yoon received 47.8% support while Lee received 38.3%.


Compared to the second week of September, both candidates showed an upward trend, but Yoon's support increased by 1.4 percentage points, surpassing Lee's 0.7 percentage point increase, slightly widening the gap.


Lee showed strength among voters in their 40s and in the Honam region, while Yoon was dominant among voters in their 20s and those aged 50 and above, as well as in Seoul, Chungcheong, Yeongnam, and Gangwon-Jeju regions.


By party support, 78.1% of Democratic Party supporters backed Lee, while 84.5% of People Power Party supporters supported Yoon.


Among the non-partisan group, Yoon led Lee by 16.6 percentage points, with 38.1% support compared to Lee's 21.5%.


The response rate for this survey was 8.4%, and the sample was extracted based on gender, age, and region weighting according to the resident registration population data from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety as of the end of January. The margin of error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
